perspective ocean

No summer is complete in my book until a trip (or several) to the ocean have taken place.  There are few things I love more than digging my feet in the sand and the smell of the salty sea air.  I could (and did) spend hours staring at the crashing waves and the bright blue skies.  There’s something incredibly calming and healing about it.

I think the thing is that the ocean gives me perspective. It reminds me that it is big and I am small. It reminds me that even though my circumstances can seem huge and overwhelming at times there’s a God who is soooo much bigger.  Most of all, it reminds me that I can trust him.  No matter what the future holds and no matter what remains unknown, I do know that He is in control.

“You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep
My faith will stand”

  1. Every single word of this post is me as well! Due to many doctor bills after surviving breast cancer last year = even with having insurance! – I’ve not been able to make it to the coast this year. All of my senses are very much aware of it! I thoroughly enjoyed your post!
