Psst….I have to tell you something.
I like lists. I live by lists. I even make them on Saturdays.
Sometimes I write things I’ve already done on lists, just so I can cross them off.
On any given day you can probably find several different “To do” lists on my desk… or in my pocket… although I usually don’t discover those until AFTER I’ve done laundry.
About a month and a half ago I turned 29. (for reals) I also like to procrastinate but that’s another story. In preparation for my birthday I drafted up a list… of course! I’ve decided that there are thirty things (at least) that I want to accomplish before I turn 30. It may be a bit of an ambitious list, especially since I’m finally blogging about it a MONTH and a half after my birthday… C’est la vie! (that’s French right?)
So here goes…. in no apparent order the following are thirty things I want to do before I turn 30! I’ll blogging as I go, so hopefully that will help me stay on track and it won’t become thirty things I have to do in the last week before I turn 30
Go to a Broadway show
Start playing the piano again (My mom was right, I regret stopping my lessons in junior high)
Pay off my Credit Card
Travel to Cali (remember how I said I write things on a list that I’ve already done… read about it here, here & here)
Vacation somewhere warm
Take a language class
Write a Children’s Book
Learn how to use Photoshop
Blog at least 3x week
Take Voice Lessons
Start my own business
Take a Dance Class
Take a Road Trip
Lose weight
Grow my hair out (I already started this one)
Do my part to fight Human Trafficking
Go to a Hillsong Event
Create a savings plan to buy my own home someday
Bike to work
Find my favorite mascara
Go to a Women’s Conference
Learn how to apply fake eye lashes
Organize Photos
Find the perfect gift for my Dad
Learn how to cook (this may take the rest of my life… I’m not going to lie)
Read 10 books
Be a more generous person
Stop drinking Soda
Go Sailing
Clean out my Blog Reader
Phew! There you have it! Now comes the easy part… actually doing it! Now I know that most of these aren’t “SMART” goals but rest assured that I have plans and additional sub-lists to ensure they happen… Is sub-lists a word? Do I need help… hmmm… maybe.
Do you like lists? What is something you want to do before your next birthday?

I will do my duty as the little sister to check in and keep you on track! and be your cheer leader….starting NOW
YOU CAN DO IT! I KNOW YOU CAN!!
My next birthday is 30 too! Though I don’t know about 30 things I want to do. Mostly I have one: finish my dissertation. Boring, I know! But also I want to speak better French and Spanish. Hey, take a language class, and then we can skype!
That’s a pretty big ONE thing though. You can do it! Almost there
P.S. Totally with you on the list thing. It’s constant with me. Lists, lists of lists, the things I’ve already done…I’m there.

[...] Anyways, here I am… its Monday again… and I’m less than thrilled. I wish this wasn’t such a common occurrence… but I’m working on it. One of the ways I try to fight that familiar “Monday, Monday” feeling is something I learned from a book that I read as part of my “read 10 books” goal in my list. [...]
